Electronics manufacturer USI has launched an AI Smart Camera designed to run computer-vision workloads directly on the factory floor, enabling local analysis without relying entirely on centralised or cloud computing.
The system can support defect detection, object recognition, OCR, component positioning, assembly verification and product classification. Its edge-based architecture is designed to reduce latency and bandwidth requirements while enabling faster manufacturing decisions.
USI has already deployed AI-assisted inspection technologies in its manufacturing operations, highlighting the growing role of edge AI in smart factories and industrial automation.
