Oman has taken a concrete step toward greener AI infrastructure, with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, and the Authority for Public Services Regulation holding the Green Artificial Intelligence Allianceβs first founding meeting on 14 September 2026.
The meeting approved the allianceβs founding document, established a Technical Committee and endorsed a 2026 work planβmoving the initiative from a strategic announcement toward a formal working structure.
Its technical focus includes renewable-powered data centres, energy-efficient AI models and processors, advanced cooling, renewable energy integration, sustainability measurement and AI-related e-waste management.
