Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has awarded Weatherford a three-year integrated drilling services contract covering 274 wells in the Marmul and Greater Saqr fields. The programme includes oil production and water injection wells and will be implemented in phases to improve drilling efficiency and resource planning.
PDO expects the integrated contracting model to reduce costs by approximately 20% compared with traditional pricing models, while improving cost control and accountability. The agreement also includes a focus on developing Omani talent, strengthening local capabilities and expanding opportunities across Omanβs local value chain.
