Oman-backed GS Microelectronics US Inc. (GSME) is expanding its presence in the global semiconductor industry through a multi-year partnership with Teradyne to establish an advanced semiconductor test and evaluation centre in Silicon Valley. The facility, planned at GSMEβs new 42,000-square-foot headquarters, is scheduled to open in Q4 2026.
The centre will support next-generation technologies including hyperscale AI, silicon photonics, automotive semiconductors, power management and RF technologies. It will provide device evaluation, engineering development, pilot production, demonstrations and technical training using Teradyneβs automated testing platforms.
Oman Investment Authority-owned ITHCA Group holds a 34.25% stake in GSME. GSME also operates a semiconductor design centre in Muscat, where the Oman-1 and Oman-2 chips have been designed using Omani talent. The new partnership expands GSMEβs role further into semiconductor testing and validation.
