𝐎𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

Oman has launched a new survey to assess access to learning, participation in training and future skills across the country.

The initiative is being conducted by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University and the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture and Science. It forms part of a research project focused on promoting lifelong learning through Learning Cities in Oman.

The survey will cover 1,200 Omani citizens aged 18 and above in Muscat, Nizwa and Sur, using telephone interviews with a randomly selected sample. It will examine available learning opportunities, accessibility, participation and the skills people are developing.

The findings are expected to help create a national database and practical indicators for future education and skills planning, while identifying gaps and opportunities to improve access to learning.

The initiative also supports Oman’s participation in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities and aligns with Oman Vision 2040’s focus on developing future-ready national capabilities.
