A new industry of guided technology tours is emerging, with visitors paying thousands of dollars to explore factories, research facilities and technology hubs. Companies are showcasing China’s ability to move innovations from development to large-scale production, offering international businesses a closer look at its industrial capabilities.

Shenzhen has become one of the key destinations, bringing together entrepreneurs, engineers and technology communities. China is also promoting industrial tourism, with more than 140 official sites available for visitors, while Xiaomi’s electric-vehicle factory alone has attracted more than 250,000 visitors.
