𝐎𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐕 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲

Oman is stepping up its electric vehicle transition with plans for hundreds of high-speed chargers, ultra-fast charging hubs and a unified national digital platform designed to make EV charging easier and more accessible across the Sultanate. The initiatives were announced at the Gulf Green Mobility Forum 2026 in Dhofar.

At the centre of the initiative is Shahin, Oman’s first unified national digital platform for EV charging services. The app will connect charging points through a single system, allowing motorists to find charging stations and check their availability and operational status in real time.

The private sector is also expanding the charging network. Projects include chargers ranging from 180kW to 450kW, while another initiative will develop ultra-fast charging centres with capacities of up to 720kW, potentially supported by solar power and battery storage. Oman is also moving towards local manufacturing, with plans for a factory producing high-speed EV chargers.

The expansion is moving beyond Muscat, with new charging facilities announced in Al Buraimi and Salalah, alongside plans for on-demand mobile EV charging through an app. Oman currently has more than 160 public charging points, with the network targeted to reach 350 by 2027.
