OQ Alternative Energy (OQAE) and Asyad Group have signed an offtake term sheet to explore the use of green hydrogen for mobility applications in Oman, marking an important step in connecting the countryโs emerging hydrogen industry with low-carbon transport.
Under the agreement, Asyad will explore using green hydrogen produced by OQAEโs deployment project in Duqm, creating a potential pathway for hydrogen-powered mobility across the logistics and transport value chain.
OQAEโs project is its first end-to-end green hydrogen deployment initiative, covering renewable power integration, hydrogen production, operations, certification, handling and commercialisation. The facility is expected to produce up to 400 kg of green hydrogen per day, with potential expansion through a dedicated hydrogen refuelling station in Duqm.
The partnership could help Oman build practical expertise in hydrogen operations, safety, infrastructure and demand while supporting the decarbonisation of transport and other hard-to-abate sectors. It also aligns with Omanโs broader ambitions under Oman Vision 2040 and its net-zero targets.
