Oman’s university and professional event calendar is set for an active October, bringing together AI hackathons, career expos, higher-education opportunities and industry engagement across Muscat and other campuses. The growing focus on practical skills reflects Oman’s wider push to prepare young talent for a rapidly changing digital economy.

One of the highlights is Mulhim 2026, Ooredoo Oman’s generative AI hackathon, which is expected to return in a larger format after attracting more than 300 participants from 15 universities in its 2025 edition. The exact 2026 dates and venue were still awaiting confirmation when the article was published.

The EduTraC Oman 2026 higher education, training and career expo will take place at OCEC from October 12–14, connecting students and course-seekers with universities, training providers and employers. The Oman Career Fair, scheduled for October 21–22, is expected to bring more than 100 exhibiting companies, 50+ speakers and 20+ workshops together to strengthen connections between Omani talent and the labour market.

Meanwhile, IEEE PowerTalks 2026, also running October 12–14 at OCEC, will bring an energy-transition and grid-resilience focus, with more than 5,000 participants expected from over 50 countries.
